Hi, my name is Chris Barry and I’m a seasoned freelance writer/editor currently based in Montreal, Canada. And yes, I’m the same Chris Barry who once fronted the 222s, 39 Steps and several other relatively well-known bands you’ve likely never heard of should it be my writing work that brought you here initially.
To this end I’m also the same Chris Barry who wrote the tremendously popular People column for 14 years in the Montreal Mirror, and whose stories on everything from vocational archaeologists in Quebec’s Eastern Townships to travelling the USA with Ringo Starr you may have read in Vice, High Times, Maxim, The National Post, The Globe and Mail, Saturday Night magazine or any number of high – and sometimes low – profile publications. For five years I also wrote and oversaw the production of an internationally syndicated radio show, the King Biscuit Flower Hour.
What you’ll find in the Articles section of the site is a selection of those fun older stories along with a few examples of the notably more conservative – or traditional – voices/tones I’ve employed for various copywriting assignments I’ve done on behalf of numerous NGO’s, businesses, and corporate entities over the years.
